Amazon Selling Details
Amazon's fee category can differ from the shopper-facing store category. Confirm the ASIN fee category in Seller Central when accuracy is critical.
Product Measurements
Enter packaged dimensions in any order. SellerFormulas normalizes longest, median, and shortest sides before classification.
Automatic rates support January 15 through October 14, 2026.
Use Amazon's measured shipping weight from Fee Preview when available. Calculated unit and dimensional weights remain visible.
Dangerous goods and hazmat products use a different FBA fee schedule and are not included in this automatic estimate.
Additional Amazon Costs
Optional per-unit allocations. These are multiplied by quantity and kept separate from automatically calculated core fees.
Enter a known per-unit shipment placement allocation.
Enter your own per-unit storage allocation if applicable.
Use for supported manual per-unit charges not already entered elsewhere.

How Amazon FBA fees are calculated
SellerFormulas first calculates the referral fee per item from the selected Amazon fee category and the item price, buyer shipping, and gift wrap. It then normalizes package dimensions, compares unit and dimensional weight, assigns an FBA size tier and item-price band, and selects the dated base fulfillment fee. Selling-plan charges and manually entered per-unit costs are added afterward.
Amazon referral fees
Amazon does not charge one universal 15% referral fee. Some categories use a simple percentage, some choose one rate based on the whole fee base, and others apply marginal rates to portions of the fee base. Applicable minimum referral fees are enforced per item. Media also receives its separate $1.80 closing fee.
The fee category Amazon assigns to an ASIN may differ from the store category shoppers browse. Confirm the fee category in Seller Central when a category choice materially affects a decision.
FBA fulfillment fees
The supported base fee is selected from the 2026 US non-peak table using product type, normalized size tier, shipping weight, and the item-price band. Non-apparel and apparel use separate standard-size rows. Bulky and Extra Large products use explicit started-pound increments. SellerFormulas does not use the nearest row when a schedule is unavailable.
2026 FBA price bands
The automatic schedule has exactly three price bands based on item price alone: under $10, $10 through $50, and over $50. Shipping and gift wrap are part of the referral-fee base but do not change the FBA item-price band. The under-$10 column already represents the lower-price treatment in the supplied table, so no second Low-Price FBA discount is added.
Amazon dimensional weight
Dimensional Weight (lb) = Longest x Median x Shortest / 139
Estimated Shipping Weight = greater of Unit Weight and Dimensional Weight
Dimensions are sorted before classification. If you enter an Amazon shipping-weight override, that override controls fee lookup while calculated unit and dimensional weights remain visible. This helps compare the estimate with Seller Central measurements.
Amazon FBA size tiers
The engine checks Small Standard, Large Standard, Small Bulky, and Large Bulky limits in order, including length plus girth for bulky tiers. Products outside those limits move to the applicable Extra Large weight band. A potential Overmax condition is warned about, but no unsupported Overmax fee is invented.
2026 fuel and logistics surcharge
Beginning April 17, 2026, the calculator applies 3.5% to the base FBA fulfillment fee only. It does not apply that percentage to item price, referral fees, selling-plan fees, or the total Amazon fee estimate.
Individual vs Professional selling plans
Individual orders include $0.99 per item sold. The $39.99 monthly Professional plan is not charged to every order. Its allocation is off by default; when enabled, the calculator divides $39.99 by the entered monthly units, rounds to cents per unit, and multiplies that allocation by order quantity.
Amazon FBA fee worked example
The engine example uses a $25 Home and Kitchen item, one unit, Professional plan with allocation off, non-apparel product type, 10 x 8 x 0.5 inch package, 8 ounce unit weight, no buyer shipping or gift wrap, and an August 21, 2026 fulfillment date.

Fees this calculator includes
Automatic results include the selected referral structure, applicable minimum referral fee, media closing fee, dated base FBA fulfillment fee, temporary fuel surcharge, and selected selling-plan treatment. Inbound placement, storage, and other known Amazon fees can be entered manually as per-unit allocations.
Fees this calculator does not include
It does not automatically calculate dangerous goods, inbound placement, low-inventory-level fees, storage utilization, monthly or aged inventory storage, returns processing, refund administration, removal or disposal, Overmax handling, SIPP discounts, incentives, advertising, product cost, or income tax. Do not treat seller proceeds before product cost as profit.
Why your actual Amazon fee may differ
Amazon can use fulfillment-center measurements, a different fee category, a different shipping weight, SKU-specific eligibility, inventory conditions, or charges unavailable from these inputs. Amazon holiday peak rates apply from October 15, 2026 through January 14, 2027, but the detailed verified peak table is not loaded. Peak dates return an unsupported state instead of using non-peak rows or adding an average increase.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Amazon FBA charge?
It depends on product type, package measurements, shipping weight, size tier, price band, fulfillment date, and SKU-specific conditions. Referral and selling-plan fees are separate from fulfillment.
Does Amazon charge 15% on every product?
No. Referral rates differ by fee category and may use thresholds, marginal tiers, or different minimums.
What happens at $10 and $50 selling prices?
$9.99 is under $10; $10.00 through $50.00 uses the middle band; and $50.01 uses the over-$50 band. The band is based on item price.
What is dimensional weight?
It converts package volume into an estimated weight using divisor 139. The calculator uses the greater of unit and dimensional weight unless an Amazon override is entered.
What is Low-Price FBA?
The under-$10 column in this supplied schedule reflects the applicable lower-price treatment. The calculator does not add a second discount on top of that row.
Does this calculator include storage or inbound placement fees?
It does not calculate them automatically. Enter a known per-unit allocation in the optional fields when useful.
Does this calculator include advertising or product cost?
No. Use the Amazon ACoS and Break-Even ACoS calculators for advertising analysis. Use the Amazon Profit Calculator when you want to subtract product cost, inbound freight, packaging, and ad spend from the supported Amazon fee estimate.
Why does Amazon Fee Preview show a different fee?
Amazon may have different measurements, category data, eligibility, inventory conditions, or additional SKU-level charges. An override can align lookup weight, but Amazon's live result remains the more authoritative SKU-specific estimate.
Does apparel have different FBA fees?
Yes. The supported standard-size schedule uses separate apparel rows. The supplied bulky and Extra Large rows apply to both product types in this Task 8 implementation.
Does this calculator support dangerous goods?
No. Hazmat products use a different schedule, so standard rates are not silently applied to them.
